RIP Tina and thank you … Cyndi and band opened for Tina Turner on the US leg of her Wildest Dreams World Tour, starting in a steamy Houston on May 1st 1997 and ending three months later in Jones Beach, August 2nd 1997.
What an experience to hear Tina's legendary voice and feel that incredible energy every night.

When we arrived in Houston Oprah Winfrey was there. She was broadcasting from the tour opening with her friend Tina. It was all very hi powered, humid and exciting! We were promoting the Sisters of Avalon album, Cyndi was pregnant and it was an intense few months and my last official tour. I never particularly enjoyed the USA summer heat but looking back from the cold British winters I think, how lucky was I?
