Woodbridge Ambient Music Festival, back for a second year …  The river and light of Woodbridge inspires many artists, poets, writers, and musicians. For the second year running the Autumn Equinox weekend of 22nd-24th September 2023 will celebrate the town’s link with ambient music.
So, what is Ambient Music? It is often described as ‘Music to quiet your thoughts’ and ‘Music that doesn’t get in the way.’ Recently the NHS suggested relaxation techniques including ambient music, that can help relieve stress and gain a sense of well-being. “Music intended to induce calm and a space to think” Known as the ‘Father of Ambient Music’ Brian and his brother, the ambient musician Roger Eno, grew up here. The BBC Arena film ‘Another Green World’ touches on the family’s time in Woodbridge and Suffolk and is being shown on THURSDAY 31st August 7.30PM at the Riverside Theatre as part of the ‘Brian Eno at 75’ evening and a prequel to the festival.
